Hammer Products only use ingredients which are beneficial in supplying the right energy ingredients for riding. It sounds so simple, but it’s not quiet like that.
Too many Sports Nutrition Companies (like the major food Companies) make their products with added sugars, flavour’s, colourings and preservatives. Obviously this will sacrifice their performance.
Hammer Nutrition does not do this.
There are no added sugars, colourings, preservatives and flavours.
The basis of Hammer’s fuel is Powders or liquids for use during. Why, simply because they are easily digestible and quickly available for energy use.
Hammer Nutrition makes 4 products to be used by Riders.
Hammer Gel
A complex carbohydrate gel containing 104 calories.
The benefit of using this is simple, it supplies a stream of consistent energy without the high’s and lows for a period of 35-45 minutes.
This is great to use for morning or afternoon rides . Use 1st thing to kick start your energy!
It’s not a great idea to eat prior (unless 3 hours before ), so a Hammer Gel 5-10 minutes prior to starting can provide an ideal supply
Endurance riders that ride for periods of 1hour + and sometimes up to 3-4 hours would benefit greatly, by consuming gels at regular periods to ensure a constant supply of energy. Hence avoiding the ill fated crash often associated with long bouts of exercise.
H.E.E.D (High Energy Electrolyte Drink)
H.E.E.D often referred to as the ultimate sports drink.
Contains over 91% complex carbohydrates (No simple sugars), a full spectrum of Electrolytes.
Commercial sports drinks contain masses of simple sugars and all too few Electrolytes.
H.E.E.D uses only complex carbohydrates for extended energy without the highs and lows.
It also contains significant amounts, of potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium,Vitamin B6 and chromium. These electrolytes all play a significant role in ensuring proper metabolic function during exercise.

Riders would benefit from using this continually throughout long rides mixed in their hydration packs with water , and prior to as a Carbo loader (finish half an hour before race and find toilet ) . For rides lasting over 3 hours combine Heed with our delicious Hammer bars in 3 flavours (Choc chip , Cashew nut choc and Almond raisin ) this will allow the body to receive the protein component to prevent muscle fatigue and help eliminate hunger pains

Recoverite
Riding is simply strenuous exercise. The constant pounding of the body during a hot day takes its toll!
The most neglected yet one of the most beneficial parts of any riding program is the Recovery.
Taking care of your Recovery means that when you wake up and want to do it again the next day, your ride is so much better.
Why, because your body has a “window of opportunity”, usually no long than 1 hour after exercise(ideally with in 30 mins post exercise), where it is most receptive to the replenishment of fuels used during training. Consuming the correct fuels during this crucial period means replenishes itself better and recovers faster.
This is one of the most fundamental parts of any riding training program for the biggest improvement, yet one of the most neglected.
